Chicken Pho at the Downtown Farm Stand, Muncie Indiana

September 24, 2016Belinda MunsonMusings1 comment

If you aren’t familiar with Pho you are missing out! This is a Viet Namese noodle soup that puts great focus on the broth. It needs to be full of flavor and not cloudy. You don’t want bits of the aromatics floating around so it’s strained before serving. I’ve seen it seasoned different ways but…

Football season is here and I decided to share some recipes that work well for serving guests or friends. The first thing I want to post is my spin-off version of Buffalo Chicken Dip that Frank’s hot sauce came up with. Of course it calls for a hot red sauce. But, I like to use…

I’m posting a recipe I made with some leftovers. It’s called Mexican Shredded Pork Casserole. I spend a lot of time reviewing places I have eaten. It’s time to post something I made! I recently made this recipe and it thought it would be a good fall football dish that isn’t the standard. I like the simplicity of this…

It’s been a while since I posted an article. But, I have several places I want to write about from my summer vacations. I’m going to start with Pie. I am not a fan of pie…or cake…or really dessert in general, occasionally get a craving but those happen very infrequently. I do love Dan’s Pies…

Nelson’s Chicken

July 2, 2016Belinda MunsonReviews1 comment

Nelson’s chicken can’t be purchased in a restaurant. You have to find an organization holding a fundraiser. We spend a week at the lakes around the 4th of July and are usually always lucky enough to hit a fundraiser selling Nelsons Chicken (and roasted “Pit Potatoes”) it’s kind of a family traditions for us ……

Well, I haven’t posted a recipe in a while so I thought I’d share my bread pudding recipe. When I cook I like to keep things simple. Not because I’m lazy ( maybe I am a little these days ) but because I’m a working mother that has limited time. So, if I find…

My instinct to search out new and interesting places to dine took me to FoxGardin – Kitchen and Ale in Fortville Indiana. My husband and I had an evening without children and felt like an excursion but I didn’t want to go too far. Fortville is a much better drive than Indianapolis from where we live. I’d…

Tuesdays Tip – Sweet, Sweet Corn…

May 31, 2016Belinda MunsonRecipesNo Comments

Well, I am from the Midwest so I am a corn lover! You get the best corn here in the summer (as well as tomatoes.) Since we are corn snobs we don’t like it when it’s not in season but we tend to miss it in the winter. I found a tip that will give you at…

The Travels of a Culinary Adventurer...

About Me

I'm just a simple Midwestern wife and mother with a passion for food and all things related. Nothing too complicated here! I decided to journal my food adventures! I am not a trained chef and I don't claim to be. I just like really good food! Most of my travels are going to be in the Middle of the United States but I will be posting my food adventures when I travel to different places. I will share recipes that I enjoy and are crowd pleasers in my home. I love to cook and wish I had more time to experiment with new recipes. So, this is a new endeavor for me. I will be tweaking this along the way as I continue to learn about the world of blogging.
