Making eco-friendly coffee with the Keurig

November 8, 2016Belinda MunsonBeverages, Musings2 comments

I love coffee in the morning … but I recently sold my Keurig to become more eco-friendly. These machines are pretty cool. I mean you can get a great cup of coffee in less than a minute and you can change the flavors each time you use it. What’s not to love?

Well, I hadn’t thought much about it at the time but after reading some articles I realized those wonderful little cups just end up in a landfill. I bought one of those reuseable filters and that seemed to work for quite a while. But, I finally broke down after a year and just bought a small 4 cup coffee pot. I don’t regret my decision at all! I have also purchased a French Press but I haven’t used it yet. I’m working up to that soon though! (read previous my blog post about coffee with Tom Steiner)

If you aren’t sure about giving up your beloved Keurig check out this article below. There are some goods suggestions on ways to keep the “K” but be more environmentally conscious.

Addendum: I have now mastered the French Press! I love it! I don’t even use sugar in my coffee anymore. They flavor is richer. I used a little cream and I’m good. I suggest if you love coffee trying a French Press. You can find videos online showing you how to use them.

What’s your favorite type of coffee? Let me know by writing a comment below!

You need to get some of your mother’s recipes and include them.

I’m working on writing about her egg roll recipe now. I have a video on facebook of her Chicken Chow Mein recipe.

The Travels of a Culinary Adventurer...

About Me

I'm just a simple Midwestern wife and mother with a passion for food and all things related. Nothing too complicated here! I decided to journal my food adventures! I am not a trained chef and I don't claim to be. I just like really good food! Most of my travels are going to be in the Middle of the United States but I will be posting my food adventures when I travel to different places. I will share recipes that I enjoy and are crowd pleasers in my home. I love to cook and wish I had more time to experiment with new recipes. So, this is a new endeavor for me. I will be tweaking this along the way as I continue to learn about the world of blogging.
